December 9th, 2010 · 2 Comments · DIY

Love to sew? On a tight budget? Here’s a collection of free dog sweater patterns that you can make with materials ranging from ritzy waterproof quilted fabric to leftover scraps from your old coat. And if you’re too busy to craft, just hop on over to the Tripawds Gear Shop for cozy winter sweaters, coats and more!

Fleece Dog Sweater Pattern

We like this page because it features detailed instructions along with a pattern, images and other ideas for doggie gear.

Martha Stewart’s Doggy Coat Pattern

The queen of crafting features a free pattern to make your own ultra luxurious, quilted dog coat using water-resistant fabric. We like this style because it doesn’t require modification for front leg Tripawds.

Noppa’s Sewing Club: Quick Dog Coat Pattern

Here’s a nice looking winter dog coat that you can make using fabric from your old rain coat. Download the detailed pattern here. This is another great pattern for front leg Tripawds.

Burke’s Backyard Winter Dog Coat Pattern

This free coat pattern offers detailed instructions but no photos. We’re featuring it here though, because it includes instructions for sewing a handy treat pocket into the jacket. If you can envision what this coat will look like without photos, it seems like it would be an easy enough pattern to try.

Happy Crafting everypawdy!

My mumma bought me a nice red and plaid coat. It’s really special and I look beautiful in it. Soon I will be big enough to wear my brother’s old coat. Maybe mom will make me a new one so I don’t have to wear hand-me-downs. Thanks! MF Mattie
